8. How does Shadowfiend work?

Shadowfiend does not behave like a typical dot spell. It is a pet, just like hunter pets and warlock demons. As such, the fiend does not "stick" at values of spellpower like a normal spell would. Instead, the pet ineherits your attributes and uses those in order to determine the damage it will do.

The shadowfiend will use your stat ratings from gear as its own, and its damage is determined by your spellpower. Because of this, it will deal damage based upon your current spellpower buffs. If you have a trinket that procs intellect, the shadowfiend will deal extra damage as long as the trinket remainds active. As soon as the trinket goes down, the shadowfiend's damage will decrease immediately. This works in the opposite direction as well, so if you cast the shadowfiend while no procs are active, it will still gain the benefit of those procs if they go up afterwards.

However, the shadowfiend will only benefit from heroism if heroism is cast while it is active. The pet must be present in order to get the buff.

Shadowfiend also uses some of your other secondary ratings, such as hit rating or critical strike rating, but I have not done much testing with these.

Исчадие тьмы является петом. Как и все петы катаклизма оно не получает бафов (наследует конкретно только статы от шмота).

Таким образом в этом вопросе уже следует поставить твердую точку. Статы наследуются и рейтинг скорости тоже - причем вероятно, что копируются абсолютно все статы и мили, и спелл и т.д. Исчадие использует для нанесения урона, то что ему нужно.

I remember in ICC shadowfiend took a snap shot of your stats when it was cast and kept those for its duration (spell power procs)
It benefited from heroism if it was out when heroism was cast, I can't recall how it scaled with haste/crit if at all.

I seem to be noticing that sfiend is no longer taking a snap shot of spell power, it seems to be updating per hit. Can anyone confirm this?

How does it scale with haste (and crit?). Does it benefit from any of the stats I have, does it update per hit or on cast? I assume it still scales with raid buffs as normal.

Shadowfiend benefits from your spellpower (int) procs. It is best to cast it right before heroism or right after power torrent/dmc:volcano proc. Shadowfiend does update based on your current spellpower. I have seen this in testing on a dummy as well. This is also backed up by kilee on several other websites. The shadowfiend doesn't "stick" at any set spellpower. My avg hit self buffed is around 5k...with pt/dmc:volcano procced it is around 7k a hit. So it is best to pop it as soon as your buffs/procs are active rather than 1/2 way through their duration. Shadowfiend can have glancing blows also.

Хотя остается вопрос будут ли меняться статы исчадия в соответствие со статами жреца в каждый момент времени - это пусть решают разработчики. Сила заклинаний у исчадия меняется и прямо зависит от кастера. Что касается "glancing blows" ударов, то они даже на видео видны вот тут в 2:10 сек:
