"One I hate is Faerie Fire, because when it happens you leave stealth instantaneously but your Vanish cooldoown is blown off anyway (in theory this should be impossible, because if you vanished before FF you shouldn't have been visible, and if FF had hit you first you shouldn't have been able to vanish)."

"The purpose of Vanish in Cataclysm is to get back into stealth. If you want to avoid harmful effects, use Cloak of Shadows.
We grew tired, as did many players, of "Vanish never works LOL" so we looped back to the original intent of Vanish being about stealth. That is why the tooltip specifically says that harmful effects won't break Vanish, but does not say that the harmful effects won't land"

"In my last BG while fighting a warrior, I get charge followed by a throwdown while I was in vanish. And later against the same warrior I pop vanish and get a throwdown 1sec later. At one other time I pop vanish and after 1sec I am out of stealth again. This BG didnt even have a hunter in it... I also got a druid cast a fiery fire on my in vanish. These things are stupid. I have 40ms when I play."
