An instance portal with a runed gate existed in the lower part of the Gorge. It could be found at [50, 83]. It was meant to be an entrance to Mount Hyjal, which was not implemented until Cataclysm, and in vanilla, one could glitch past the portal and explore the unfinished zone. In Cataclysm, however, Darkwhisper Gorge was merged into the new Mount Hyjal zone, rendering the portal unnecessary.
