An A.T.O.M.I.K. Mk. II vehicle appears on the dock in front of the ship, which you can enter and fight with. It has one ability, A.T.O.M.I.K. Mk. II Detonation, which you can use one time only, ejecting you and detonating a few seconds later. It doesn't give you progress towards winning the expedition, it's just something fun you can do while collecting Azerite.
